Principles Used in Measurement
Ultrasonic waves from the two transducers positioned on the exterior of the pipe are emitted alternately into the measured fluid region. The flow velocity is calculated by sensing difference in times transmitted waves require to change upstream and downstream. The cross sectional area of the pipe is factored into this flow velocity to produce the measured flow rate for the pipe.
